If your organic clicks fell after Google began showing AI Overviews, the obvious explanation is that the answer box took the visit. That can happen for a particular query, but it is not a safe diagnosis for your whole site. This process prevents a common reporting error: treating ranking, AI inclusion and traffic as interchangeable. Track them as separate observations.
